This Artwork was done by our most senior artist, Amy French. Amy paints about her time experience when she was in Lock Hospital, Port Hedland over 50 years ago. 

The Port Hedland Lock Hospital was built to house Aboriginal people suspected — often wrongly — of having venereal diseases 100 years ago, after an isolated island hospital scheme was shut down. To some the story is painful and sorry business, and to some it s a special place like Amy. Amy talks about how it brang Indigenous all over the Pilbara to one place.
